My wife, Gerri, of 56 years, and best friend since high school on September 4, 1962, when we met in German I class first period absolutely has fallen in love with your shirts. She can wear her favorite furry critters and be comfortable while doing so.
Gerri was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease three years ago. Her outlook was bleak— estimated life expectancy was 3-5 years. Then, a miracle happened. It seems her grandmother had narcolepsy. The Alzheimer’s (which robs sleep, depresses the immune system, and kills by disease that can’t be fought off such as pneumonia) was now confronted by her activated narcolepsy.
They cancel. They are a unique pair, only happening to one in a million pwith Alzheimer’s disease.
Her memory returned. She has total facial recognition and functions independently.
The precursor dementia remains, but that’s manageable. Her only effect from the duo of diseases is long, 12-16 hours, of uninterrupted sleep.
I tell her it’s Karma— she was a Registered Nurse for forty years and helped thousands of patients.
So, to see her face light up when she dons an otter (her favorite), squirrel, raccoon or another of your critter tops makes my day.
I am a ten years retired educator, serving as a high school chemistry, forensics, philosophy, and physics teacher ( the middle two programs my creation for the high school level); deputy superintendent for curriculum and instruction; district superintendent; and graduate school professor at The Johns Hopkins University and School of Medicine, I have had a rewarding career.
Having multiple science degrees, and living in Reno/Sparks, I am now enjoying my two days a week career as a professional gambler.
Life is good and seeing Gerri smile when donning and wearing your unique shirts makes it that much better.
