Meet the Nonprofit: Trees For The Future
We're thrilled to share exciting news: BeCause Tees has partnered with Trees for the Future (TREES). This dynamic organization is all about positive change and creating a greener, more hopeful future. Find out more about TREES and their impact on our planet below.
Who Are Trees for the Future?
Globally, unsustainable land use is a pressing problem, resulting in deteriorating landscapes, collapsing ecosystems, and farming families being trapped in cycles of hunger and poverty. TREES believes that farmers have the power to change everything.
This nonprofit is on a mission to train communities in sustainable land use. Their goal? To help build robust regional economies, foster thriving food systems, and create a healthier planet for us all.
TREES employ a methodology called the Forest Garden Approach, which helps farmers transform their land with thousands of fast-growing, ecologically appropriate trees and dozens of other crops, creating new possibilities for themselves and their communities.
Why We've Partnered with TREES
By supporting TREES, we can help to:
- Protect the planet: restore degraded land, capture carbon, improve biodiversity.
- End hunger: provide access to nutrient-rich meals via food crops for farmers and their communities.
- End poverty: provide opportunities to start business selling crops, seeds and seedlings, honey, soap and more.
- Empower women: farmer groups must be composed of at least 30% women.
TREES' Key Statistics
To date, Trees for the Future have achieved:
- 300,000,000 trees planted globally.
